This is what we do

Our projects and activities

As a foundation, we share honest and positive stories about children or youth with disabilities and/or those with poor social integration.
Below you'll find a selection of our projects and activities, but we do much more!

At the heart of all KroNland - Transflorium initiatives, the Transflorium project stands as a beacon of innovation and sustainability. This flagship project aims to revolutionize urban landscapes by integrating green architecture, sustainable energy solutions and biodiversity conservation into the core of urban planning. Our goal is to create self-sustaining communities that not only reduce environmental impact, but also improve the quality of urban life. The impact extends beyond environmental benefits, fostering community awareness and engaging in sustainable practices. Progress continues as we expand our reach to more cities with the goal of setting new standards for environmentally conscious development.

Dutch Experiences – Connecting with Nature

Presentation of the KroNland - Transflorium Foundation and promotion of the Transflorium project at the Meeting g2 conference - Land of Emerging Optimism, in Sisak on September 28, 2023. The organizer is the Meeting G2 association, which has been connecting the homeland and the diaspora through its conferences for eight years.

Inspiring stories about the Netherlands and its innovative approach to connecting with nature through canals, butterfly gardens, and sustainable bio-homes. Sandra Drnić from Sisak and the KroNland- Transflorium Foundation, in collaboration with Dutch and Croatian colleagues, bring us exciting and innovative projects that can change and enhance the image of Banovina.

Canals that Breathe Life

Imagine a country grappling with water challenges and creating canals that not only facilitate river transport but also transform landscapes and ways of life. That’s exactly what the Netherlands has achieved! Experts from this developed Western European country will share with us their experience of transforming land into canals, and how they dealt with natural challenges while harnessing them for the benefit of their community.

Butterfly Garden in Banovina

The Sisak-Moslavina County is an ideal area for the development of an ambitious idea – the construction of a giant butterfly garden, inspired by similar projects around the world. Dutch guests will present to us this attractive project idea that enriches biodiversity and stimulates tourist curiosity. We will learn about the advantages of such gardens and how they can positively impact the environment and local economy.

Building Bio Homes

The KroNland - Transflorium Foundation introduces an innovative approach to connecting the labor market with the education system and technological progress. Inspired by the Dutch approach, this association enables students to create conditions for staying and living in their hometown through education on sustainable technologies and the construction of bio homes. We will familiarize ourselves with their work and how smart resource integration can stimulate local development.

All guests from Netherlands who shared their experience and knowledge with the audiance are provided accommodation and travel thanks to the generous financial support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Croatia through the “Green People – Building with Nature” program.

12 peaks – Challenge up

2025 - 2026

The Challenge up – Twelve Peaks project aims to promote mental health and prevent mental disorders in children, teenagers and young adults. The program is based on innovative, interactive activities, such as educational workshops, volunteering and promotions. By implementing our green hiking trips throughout the Republic of Croatia, we promote gaining shape and fitness and improving the quality of life, changing lifestyles and adopting healthy habits with a focus on healthy eating, how to motivate yourself and achieve inner peace, and what are the benefits of hiking and spending time in nature for mental health.

King's Day

2025, the Embassy of The Netherlands in Croatia, had the pleasure of hosting their traditional King’s Day reception – the National day of the Netherlands.

This year the embassy invited KroNland a Sisak based NGO that beautifully links Croatia and the Netherlands to showcase their work on green economic growth, craft industries, sustainable agriculture and green tourism.

Their guests from the Amsterdam Street Art, Jarno and Tim, made on spot a unique art-work “Roots of Renewal” to illustrate the power of collaboration and recovery.

Parliament of the Republic of Croatia

2025

Our Sandra had the honor of presenting the work of the KroNland association in the Croatian Parliament, at the invitation of the President of the Agriculture Committee, Marijana Petir. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to present the Transflorium project in the premises of the highest legislative body of our homeland, which is based on the transfer of knowledge from the Netherlands, in starting the domestic wood industry and building houses from natural materials in the area of the city of Petrinja, while simultaneously encouraging biodiversity, stimulating agriculture and developing domestic production based on tradition and promoting the identity of Sisak-Moslavina County. We hope that there will be an opportunity to host the esteemed MP Petir at the opening of the production of the first house from sustainable materials in the near future.
